YOUR SECOND DAWN

(First Sunday of Easter)
Sunday, April 1, 2018

In the dawn of creation, the light was with man, inasmuch as he had been created in the image of God. Thus, man was free to grow in the goodness he had received; he lived in the peace and unity of the human community in accordance with God’s design. However, unity was fragmented when men disobeyed the will of God, divided themselves into antagonistic groups, and sought their mutual destruction. By so harming their own human dignity, men sank humanity into darkness.

New life for you

The light of the second dawn (the resurrection) appears when God, through Jesus Christ, removes the stone of the tomb of division and subjugation, in order for men to come out of the darkness into the light, and in order for men to return to life. This is the second and never ending dawn of humanity.
The light of the second dawn brings about the end of divisions and subjugation, the end of the exploitation of man by man, and the end of all wars. To remove the stone means to move from darkness to light, and from night to dawn. Even to this day, it is everyone’s responsibility to see to it that the stone is removed.
The stone of the tomb is the burden that overwhelms us when we live amidst the enmities of antagonistic persons, groups, and nations. With the triumph of life, we fully restore our human dignity and enter into the second dawn of humanity – a renewal of the first dawn when God created man in his own image and likeness.
