(Second Sunday of Lent)
Sunday, February 25, 2018.

When your self-image is darkened, you must turn it “dazzling white” again (Mark 9:3).
How to restore the greatness of your self-image:
– You must see it as it is: dazzling white, just as God created it for you.
– You must understand that the elements of darkness are but passing ailments afflicting you at certain times in your life.
– You must believe that you are united to God: “This is my beloved Son” (Mark 9:7). It is because of this unity – the unity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – that you share in God’s goodness.
– You must listen to God saying: “Listen to him” (Mark 9:7), so you may become like him.
The restoration of the greatness of your self-image is fulfilled in the triumph of life over death, that is, in the resurrection of Christ Jesus, the resurrection of which you are a beneficiary. It is God living in you who restores the greatness of your self-image.
God supports your efforts to restore your greatness.
“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his only Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him” (Romans 8:31-32); he will give you victory over death, victory over the evils of the world.
Those who are with God become themselves dazzling white.
