(Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time)

If you aspire to be the first, you must confront a world, which is against peace and goodness.
It is a world where “those who are recognized as rulers over the [people] lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt” (Mark 10:42). That is to say, the rulers of the world use their authority as a means to subjugate those who are weak.
If you want to be the first, you must denounced the ways of the world. You must be willing to become the servant to all because “whoever wishes to be great among you, will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all” (Mark 10:43-44).
